All about the Cause Part One NOW FULL, plus causes announced!

With one week to go until the launch of All about the Cause, our Social Media Week London initiative to reclaim social media from the trolls and use it as a force for good, we can now reveal our shortlist of causes:

Sexual Health
Chlamydia, known as ‘the silent STI’, affects 1 in 10 women. The Department for Education has dropped sexual health from the curriculum.

Those that suffer most as a result of war in Syria are the children.
 from Syria are a real issue in the Middle East & Europe.

Gay Rights
Controversial article 6.21 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses. The likes of Cher are making a stand by refusing to participate in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Violence towards Women
Domestic violence is a threat to one in every 4 women. Women have recently gone on strike in India to combat the country’s rape culture.

Mental Health
Suicide is the single biggest killer to UK males under the age of 35. Individuals are able to access detailed instructions online of how to end their lives.

Tell us via Facebook or Twitter which cause you’d like us to support using #CAUSE2013. You have one week to cast your vote and spread the word as far and wide throughout the social sphere as possible!

This is your chance to make your voice heard and have something that you care about championed with support from our Social Celebrity Change-Makers, including DJ Sonny Wharton and former Emmerdale actor Lyndon Ogbourne, so get involved!

All about the Cause: Part One is now fully booked, but you can still register to attend Part Deux. Spaces are limited, so don’t hang about. Remember, these events are BYOD and the Wifi will be maxed out on the day, so make sure your 3G is all juiced up and ready to go.
