An Emmy for the Battlefront-ers!

Channel 4’s Battlefront gang, some of whom were creatively mentored by All about the Idea, have been awarded an Emmy.

The 6th edition of the invitation only International Digital Emmy Awards at Miptv in Cannes took place on Monday and was attended by over 300 international executives from the television, broadband and mobile industries.

“This year’s winners attest to the power of social media throughout the world,” said Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “We congratulate them for being on the cutting edge of a vital new form of expression.”

Battlefront II followed on air and online 12 young people running campaigns to change the world. A feature of the website was the Start Your Own Campaign section, which encouraged visitors to set up their very own campaigns. Other additions to the site included a fortnightly web-show hosted by Youtube talent Alex Day.

Battlefront II won in the category for Digital Programme – Children & Young People for Raw TV / Airlock for Channel 4. This is actually the second time they have won a Digital Emmy in this category!

Naturally, this success can be attributed to excellent big ideas mentoring…
