Ideas can move inanimate objects

As a child I was completely taken by the fact that Matilda could move objects just by thinking it in Roald Dahl’s classic. For me, it was the epitome of everything that was magical and amazing about the human body.

Now, as an adult, I am no less fascinated by the capabilities of the mind and its untapped potential. In this area, I allow my imagination to run away with me slightly and I indulge myself in the fantasy that the things that Jean Grey aka. Phoenix can do in X-Men: The Last Stand may not be entirely impossible.

So, we’re not quite at mutant level yet, but Mattel has made it possible to control the motion of a tiny foam ball using telekenisis. Here it is in action.

More than that, the world’s larget toy company based on revenue has now designed the Mindflex Duel; a game that allows you to play tug-of-war over a ball, with a friend (or nemesis), using brain power alone.

It is rumoured that a purchase has been made from All about the Idea HQ and we are very excited at the prospect of testing this futuristic gadget.

Imagine if the strength and consistency of the pull is directly correlated to the frequency and quality of BIG ideas in the competitor – the mind boggles…
